27 hours traveling And +11:30 hours ahead of Utah I'm unpacking and settling here in the Elephant house! This is where I'll be living for the next three weeks.
It's a beautiful and very clean place to stay, I'm loving it here and I especially love the people.
My morning started out with a flight to Dallas an hour and fourth min layover then onto Landon with another long five hour layover. Then to Chennai! I left my house Saturday at 12:30 and arrived in Chennai Monday at 4:30 that morning.
I arrived in the Chennai India airport where I then went through immigration. Then onto baggage claim. Luckily all my bags arrived safely.
India is unlike anything I've ever seen! There are so many people. Even at five in the morning there stood hundreds of people. We took a thirty min drive to the Marriott we stayed in for just a few short hours before our bus came to drive us to The Rising Star!
During the drive I saw that most people didn't wear shoes, they slept on the side walk. Trash filling the street. So much poverty. When I entered the Marriott I felt like I was in another world. Everything sparkled like It had just been polished! How could it be that just outside my window laid people sleeping on the sidewalk, wearing no shoes. With wild dogs and cows roaming the street?!
There is so much to see and learn about India that I hope to have answered before I leave here in three weeks.
What I know now ? I hope to make a small difference while I'm here!
